The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced a new initiative called Creators HQ in Dubai, expanding its Golden Visa program to include digital content creators from around the globe. The scheme provides a 10-year renewable residency permit, supported by a $40.8 million Content Creators Support Fund.
Creators HQ, which officially opened on January 13, 2025, in Emirates Towers, aims to establish Dubai as a global hub for content creation by providing support services and opportunities for creators to connect with funding and investors. The facility will host 300 annual events and workshops focused on branding, video production, storytelling, and monetization, as well as offering creative camps, mentorship programs, and funding opportunities.
The UAE's Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Mohammad Al Gergawi, emphasized the country's cultural diversity as a key factor in attracting global content creators. He stated that the UAE provides a unique environment for creators to innovate and expand their reach.
The Golden Visa program for creators is the latest specialized residency category introduced by Dubai, following recent additions such as the Golden Quay initiative for superyacht owners. Creators HQ has already secured partnerships with major technology platforms, including Meta, TikTok, and X, and has attracted 100 initial members from 20 countries.
The program welcomes a wide range of content creators, including traditional social media influencers, podcasters, visual artists, advertising firms, and animation studios. In addition to assistance with visa applications, the hub plans to build partnerships with streaming services, gaming companies, and artificial intelligence developers to foster a comprehensive creative ecosystem.
As Dubai continues to diversify its economy and attract talent from around the world, the expansion of the Golden Visa program to include content creators demonstrates the UAE's commitment to embracing the digital age and nurturing a thriving creative industry.
With the support of the Content Creators Support Fund and the resources provided by Creators HQ, Dubai is striving to become a leading destination for global content creators who seek long-term residency and opportunities for growth and innovation.
