Philippines Launches New Fast-Track Permanent Residency Program

The Philippines launches new fast track permanent residency program, the FAB-Investor Visa (FIV), processed under the authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB), a special administrative zone in the greater metropolitan Manila area. This residency by investment program, FIV, offers a streamlined, faster, and digital-first alternative to the country's legacy SIRV program, which has been in place since 1987.

Key features of the Philippines FIV program

Key features of the FIV program include:

  • Wait time of only about one week
  • Investment requirements as low as a fixed deposit of US$75,000 through FAB-approved partners
  • No minimum stay, intrusive net worth, or real-estate purchase requirements
  • Approved FIV residents can live, work, or study anywhere in the Philippines
  • Applicants can add their spouse and dependent children to the application with no extra investment requirement
  • FIV-approved permanent residents can naturalise and become Philippines citizens after fulfilling naturalisation requirements

The program is open to all nationalities, including Russians, Israelis, and Taiwanese, underscoring the Philippines' support for global citizens facing adverse circumstances.

One of the most significant advantages of the FIV program is its processing time. While the traditional SIRV program takes approximately one year to process applications, the FIV program boasts a remarkably short SIRV entry.
